Nice Marathaon

In November 2019, Julian White competed in the Nice Marathon to raise funds for the proposed Rotary Jaipur Limb project in Gondar, northern Ethiopia.

The race took place on Sunday, November 3 and we were there to support him when, as promised, he completed the race barefoot in homage to all the famous Ethiopian runners both past and present. 

We think that his time of 3 hours and 52 minutes is good under any circumstances but particularly so as it was done without footwear.  He received much acclaim for this from the spectators along the route and especially as he approached the finish.

I thought you might be interested in how he got on and I attach three pictures of his achievement, one during the race, one as he finished and one with his children and his medal.

He has raised 3,500 euros so far.
